The E.G.C.E. laboratory IT department is managed by Jean-Bernard Emond and occasionally, he can be helped by David Ogereau.
Laboratory IT is constantly evolving…
From 2022
The laboratory is one of the three founding members of IDEEV and moved into its new premises in February 2022. In particular, we now have a fully-fledged server room.
The laboratory’s computing facilities have evolved enormously since the early 2000s. The department is now equipped with high-performance computing machines (>160 cores, >1TB RAM) and a large storage capacity (>1200TB).
The network is developed in VLANs throughout the buildings, with connections of up to 10 Gb/s and 802.11ad Wifi. Servers and user workstations are now based exclusively on X86 hardware architecture (PC and Mac). Operating systems are mainly 64-bit and 32-bit versions of the following: Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, Scientific Linux, Mint), Windows (7, 8, 10) and Mac OS (10.9 to 10.15).
The printer fleet was rationalized a few years ago (A4/A3 color laser printers).
The old external services (front end of the old mail / webmail, as well as the old website) are hosted on the premises of the CNRS Regional Delegation.
Before 2022
External services (email front-end, antispam, webmail, web and file exchange) have been progressively repatriated to the laboratory over the last few years, as our Délégations Régionales gradually abandoned support and services for CNRS laboratories.
