Research

I am an ecologist interested in the interactions between plants and their associated insect communities (herbivores, parasitoids etc.) and pathogens. I studied the interactions between crops, pests and their natural enemies and the mechanisms underlying host selection and acceptance. In this context, I am interested in chemical signals (plant volatiles, pheromones, contact cues) used by insects during their different behaviours. For this, I use different approaches combining laboratory experiments on insect behaviour, greenhouse and field trials. My work is oriented towards applied perspectives including the development of sustainable strategies in biocontrol and integrated pest management. As part of various collaborative projects, I work with public and private institutions at national and international level.
