After a master’s degree in Evolutionary and Behavioral Ecology in Tours (37), I am doing a PhD in molecular ecology, under the supervision of Ms Kaiser-Arnauld and Mougel-Imbert.
My PhD focuses on the virulence differences between two strains of the parasitoid wasp Cotesia typhae (Kobodo and Makindu), when they parasitize the larva of the lepidopteran Sesamia nonagrioides (also know as Mediterranean corn borer). To do so, we are studying virulence from a molecular point of view, particularly through the differential expression of genes (by mRNA sequencing of both the wasp and the host) and the protein composition of the venom. Thus, we expect to identify, in the venom, proteins that might key virulence factor in the parasitism success.
