En particulier, la mortalit\u00e9 des colonies d&rsquo;abeilles mellif\u00e8res (<em>Apis mellifera<\/em>) a attir\u00e9 beaucoup d&rsquo;attention en raison des divers services associ\u00e9s tels que la production de miel, la pollinisation des plantes sauvages et des plantes cultiv\u00e9es entomophiles (Potts et al. 2016). Des taux de mortalit\u00e9 anormalement \u00e9lev\u00e9s ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9s dans plusieurs r\u00e9gions du monde, y compris en Europe, o\u00f9 ils peuvent atteindre 25 \u00e0 50% des cheptels apicoles chaque hiver (Gray et al. 2019). Ces taux de mortalit\u00e9 engendrent de fortes r\u00e9percussions sur l&rsquo;\u00e9conomie et la durabilit\u00e9 de l\u2019apiculture, ainsi que sur les divers services associ\u00e9s. Pour faire face \u00e0 ces mortalit\u00e9s, des syst\u00e8mes de surveillance de routine des colonies d\u2019abeilles ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s. Il s\u2019agit d\u00e9sormais d\u2019une pratique courante pour les apiculteurs afin d\u2019observer d&rsquo;\u00e9ventuels troubles comportementaux, des changements de productivit\u00e9 ou pour suivre la performance des ruches. Ces techniques sont \u00e9galement utilis\u00e9es dans la recherche afin de pr\u00e9dire et anticiper l\u2019effondrement des colonies (Requier et al. 2017). N\u00e9anmoins, ces suivis de routine ne sont possibles que du printemps \u00e0 l&rsquo;automne car l&rsquo;ouverture des ruches lorsque les temp\u00e9ratures sont froides met en p\u00e9ril la survie de la colonie par rupture de la thermor\u00e9gulation. Les ruches sont donc consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme des bo\u00eetes noires par les apiculteurs en hiver, bien que la mortalit\u00e9 des colonies survienne principalement pendant cette p\u00e9riode (Gray et al. 2019).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Objectifs&nbsp;: <\/strong>Ce projet de doctorat vise \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper et utiliser des <em>information and telecommunication technologies<\/em> (ICT, e.g. Barlow &amp; O\u2019Neill 2020) comme suivi automatique des colonies d&rsquo;abeilles afin de (<em>1<\/em>) comprendre les m\u00e9canismes sous-jacents au risque de mortalit\u00e9 hivernale et (<em>2<\/em>) identifier des indicateurs pr\u00e9coce qui pourraient aider les apiculteurs \u00e0 limiter les pertes de colonies et les d\u00e9ficits \u00e9conomiques associ\u00e9s. Le\/la doctorant(e) r\u00e9alisera des exp\u00e9riences de terrain (combinant des observations traditionnelles avec des syst\u00e8mes automatis\u00e9s de capteurs <em>low-cost<\/em> qui seront d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s dans le cadre du projet pour suivre les colonies d&rsquo;abeilles en continu et en temps r\u00e9el) dans divers sites r\u00e9partis le long d&rsquo;un gradient de complexit\u00e9 du paysage (agriculture, milieux urbains, milieux semi-naturels). Les donn\u00e9es seront associ\u00e9es \u00e0 des mod\u00e8les m\u00e9canistiques (e.g. Henry et al. 2017) pour \u00e9valuer le risque de mortalit\u00e9 des colonies et pour identifier des indicateurs pr\u00e9coces. Des hypoth\u00e8ses d\u2019effets paysagers et de <em>carry-over effects<\/em> seront particuli\u00e8rement test\u00e9es (Requier et al. 2017). Les objectifs finaux seront (<em>i<\/em>) d&rsquo;am\u00e9liorer les connaissances sur l&rsquo;\u00e9cologie des abeilles mellif\u00e8res, (<em>ii<\/em>) d&rsquo;analyser les effets des variables environnementales sur la mortalit\u00e9 des abeilles, et (<em>iii<\/em>) de d\u00e9river des outils d&rsquo;aide \u00e0 la d\u00e9cision pour les apiculteurs afin de soutenir leurs activit\u00e9s professionnelles. Cette th\u00e8se s\u2019ins\u00e8re dans le cadre d\u2019un projet europ\u00e9en Era-Net ICT-AGRI-FOOD couvrant les besoins de fonctionnement, les missions de terrain ainsi que la participation \u00e0 des congr\u00e8s. Dans le cadre de ce projet, des collaborations \u00e9troites sont pr\u00e9vues avec l\u2019<em>University of W\u00fcrzburg \u2013 Department of Animal Ecology and Tropical Biology<\/em> (Allemagne) et l\u2019<em>Hellenic Agricultural Organization \u00ab\u00a0DEMETER\u00a0\u00bb \u2013 Department of Apiculture <\/em>(Gr\u00e8ce).
