{"id":1108,"date":"2014-03-20T11:07:58","date_gmt":"2014-03-20T10:07:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.egce.universite-paris-saclay.fr\/?page_id=1108"},"modified":"2014-03-20T11:07:58","modified_gmt":"2014-03-20T10:07:58","slug":"elegem","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.egce.universite-paris-saclay.fr\/?page_id=1108&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"ELEGEM"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"date-header\">The \u00ab\u00a0Mobile Genetic Elements\u00a0\u00bb team<\/h2>\n<fieldset class=\"module-powered-simple\">\n<legend><\/legend>\n<p>We are interested in mobile genetic elements, mainly transposables elements (TEs), and and in their short- and long-term impact on host genome evolution.<\/p>\n<p>Our main thematics are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mobile elements evolution and dynamics,<\/strong> in genomes and populations.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Influence of host and abiotic factors on the regulation of transposable elements activity<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Influence of non-autonomous transposable elements<\/strong> (hyperparasites) on the amplification dynamics.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Impact of mobile elements on genome organization and function<\/strong>, notably, the role of TEs and viruses in lateral gene transfers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Biologic systems and genome evolution<\/strong>: the evolution of genotype-phenotype relationships and the evolution of epistasis and gene networks, through theoretical and experimental approaches.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are using bioinformatics and molecular approaches. The experimental part uses drosophila (<span style=\"font-style: italic;\">Drosophila melanogaster<\/span> ou <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">D. simulans<\/span>), and the transposable element <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">mariner<\/span> as models. Bioinformatic is used to develop tools necessary for genome analysis in conjunction with a theoretical approach that serves defining models that are tested through population genetic
